The next online meeting of the AES Melbourne Section will be held on Monday 3rd October 2022 at 7:30pm – via Zoom.

Recording Music for Immersive Platforms

applying Dolby Atmos to music streaming  

Dolby Atmos has transitioned from its recognised role in film sound, to a new and significantly different role as a dedicated platform for streaming music playback, on platforms like Apple Music, Tidal and Amazon +.

Angus will take a broad look at the technical requirements for Dolby Atmos, including a description of his own studio Red Road Immersive, and then offer some personal insights into what he feels are the important considerations in creating a good Dolby Atmos mix, especially for multiple music genres.

About Angus Davidson:
Angus has over 45 years’ experience in the music industry, as a studio designer, producer and studio and live engineer.

He currently works in his 9.1.4 Dolby Atmos studio, Red Road Immersive, and is also Director of Technical Support in APAC and Nth America, for legendary Czech-based speaker manufacturer, KV2 Audio.
