TV Program Loudness
Be Ready for the Next Decade

Inconsistent audio program loudness in television productions and broadcasts has become an issue recently, particularly since the advent of Digital Television.

The European Broadcasting Union has done a lot of work on the problem through their PLOUD Group, resulting in the R128 Recommendation on “Loudness normalization and permitted maximum level”.

Jean-Paul is a member of the PLOUD Group, and an expert on the subject having presented papers on the subject at AES Conventions and at seminars around the world.
