The Audio Engineering Society Melbourne Section Incorporated (AES Melbourne) is an incorporated association governed by the laws of the state of Victoria, Australia and is affiliated with the international professional and standards body known as the Audio Engineering Society (AES) incorporated in New York.
The purposes of the Section are:
The diffusion and increase of educational and scientific knowledge in audio engineering, the promotion and advancement of this science and its allied arts in both theoretical and practical application;
The stimulation of interest in audio engineering, the encouragement of the interchange and intercourse of ideas amongst its members and the promotion and maintenance of high professional standards amongst its members;
To hold meetings for the reading or discussion of papers, publications, communications for furthering the above-mentioned purposes.
AES Melbourne is concerned with promoting professional audio education within Australia and providing workshops and seminars of interest to students and practitioners in the pro-audio field, both in content creation and engineering disciplines.
